Alexis Sanchez: Arsenal players expect Chile ace to leave as Man City prepare January bid

Sanchez came close to joining Man City after Arsenal agreed to sell him on the condition they find a replacement in time.

But the deal fell through when Arsenal were unable to convince Thomas Lemar to join from Monaco and meant Sanchez was forced to stay at the Emirates, at least until January.

The Chilean has been a frustrated figure for Arsenal at times this season with critics believing it to be due to his disappointment at not leaving.

But the Telegraph are now reporting Sanchez may finally get his wish and reunite with City boss Pep Guardiola in the new year.

The report says Guardiola has not given up on signing Sanchez and the Premier League leaders will make a cash offer in January.

It is claimed the bid will be less than the £60million offer City made in August.

Arsenal must then decide whether to keep Sanchez and let him leave next summer for free or recoup some cash for him.

But it is claimed some players in the Arsenal squad feel Sanchez should leave due to the ‘detrimental’ effect his situation has had on the team.

Sanchez has clashed with some of his team-mates in the past and his refusal to sign a new contract has dominated the attention around Arsenal.
