Prince Harry and Meghan Markle latest news: Were couple at mental health event together?

  • Prince Harry, 33, and Meghan Markle, 36, made their first official public appearance together at the Invictus Games in Toronto at the end of September.
  • Reports said the Suits star may join the young prince at the Heads Together charity event for World Mental Health Day yesterday.
  • There have been many hints that an engagement is imminent, including what kind of car Meghan has been driven round in during her stay in the UK.

Meghan could be on the verge of quitting the hit-US legal drama Suits to tie the knot with Prince Harry, sources have claimed.

The girlfriend of the Royal is still yet to confirm whether she will continue to play Rachel Zane for the eighth season of the hugely popular TV show.

The delay in sealing a contract has led to speculation that she is planning a move to England to finally tie the knot with Prince Harry.

And insiders have claimed that if the couple are to live together, the 36-year-old actress will have to ship her bags to the UK.

The Toronto-based Suits actress has been spotted being driven around London in a black Volkswagen by a beefy male chauffeur.

And although this may not normal seem out of the ordinary for a world-renowned celebrity, it could be a subtly sign that the 36-year-old and her royal beau could be about to make a very special announcement.

Days after Kate Middleton was pictured in a dark-coloured Audi A3, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William officially announced their engagement.

And it is thought the recent appearance of Meghan Markle in London could suggest a similar fate.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are able to show public displays of affection due to the fact the Suits star is not yet a royal and does not have to follow the example of the Queen.

Harry and Meghan struggled to keep their hands off each other at the Invictus Games in Toronto last week, leading many to question why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge fail to show any sort of affection when out in public.

Body language expert, Robin Kermode, told the Mail Online: “The Queen rarely holds hands with her husband in public and this seems to have set an unwritten precedent for the other royals.

“It is very clear that William and Kate are emotionally close, however, they do not seem to feel the need to prove their love – particularly when on official state business.”

“They come across as a strong, independent couple and while they are always on show, they do not feel the need to ‘show’ their love for each other to the world.”

Many have speculated on the kind of ring Prince Harry will present to Meghan Markle.

A prominent UK based jeweller has revealed why Prince Harry would never choose an emerald to get down on one knee with.

Tobias Kormind, founder of 77Diamonds, said he would never advise a client to choose emerald for an engagement ring.

Prince Harry got a big sloppy kiss from an old friend a St James’s Palace yesterday during the reception for supporters of the royals’ Heads Together mental health campaign

Cooper, a two-year-old assistance dog, climbed up on the Prince’s chest and gave him a friendly lick on the face after renewing their acquaintance.

The labrador-retriever cross has met Harry several times with his owner, Phillip Eaglesham, a former corporal in the Royal Marines who uses a wheelchair after contracting Q Fever, a debilitating disease caused by bacteria, in Sangin, Afghanistan in 2010.

Mr Eaglesham said: “Cooper was really excited when he saw him. Obviously, he’s a dog person and he sees dogs all the time and the difference they make to people. Cooper’s tail was going into a helicopter.

“He gave him a kiss at Buckingham Palace at the Not Forgotten garden party last summer.”

Prince Harry, 33, and Meghan Markle, 36, have been dating for over a year and the couple recently took things to the next level by making their first official public appearance together at the Invictus Games in Toronto.

Yesterday, Harry was joined by his brother Prince William, 35, and sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, 35 at a charity event to champion World Mental Health Day.

But was the Suits star also in attendance?

Prince Harry and Prince William were seen earlier in the day giving speeches as they celebrated the impact of their mental health charity Heads Together.

They were then joined by the Duchess of Cambridge for an evening reception at Buckingham Palace, which was Kate’s first appearance since announcing he was pregnant with her third child on September 1.

Some reports said Meghan would also join her beau for a first public appearance in Britain.

So was she present at last night’s event?

Unfortunately for Harry and Meghan fans the American actress was nowhere to be seen, as event-goers focused on the cause of the charity alongside Kate’s protruding baby bump.

Meghan has previously chief away from major events as not to draw attention away.

For Pippa Middleton’s wedding earlier this year she made a late appearance.

Despite Meghan not joining Harry at yesterday’s event, speculation over an upcoming engagement is still rife.
